In the present paper, the cubic B-splines method is considered for solving one-dimensional heat and wave equations. A typical finite difference approach had been used to discretize the time derivative while the cubic B-spline is applied as an interpolation function in the space dimension. The accuracy of the method for both equations is discussed. The efficiency of the method is illustrated by some test problems. This paper presents a fast and online incremental solution for an appearance-based loop-closure detection problem in a dynamic indoor environment. Closing the loop in a dynamic environment has been an important topic in robotics for decades. Recently, PIRF-Nav has been reported as being successful in achieving high recall rate at precision 1. However, PIRF-Nav has three main disadvantages: (i) the computational expense of PIRF-Nav is beyond real-time, (ii) it utilizes a large amount of memory in the redundant process of keeping signatures of places, and (iii) it is ill-suited to an indoor environment. These factors hinder the use of PIRF-Nav in a general environment for long-term, high-speed mobile robotic applications. Therefore, this paper proposes two techniques: (i) new modified PIRF extraction that makes the system more suitable for an indoor environment and (ii) new dictionary management that can eliminate redundant searching and conserve memory consumption. The results show that our proposed method can complete tasks up to 12 times faster than PIRF-Nav with only a slight percentage decline in recall. In addition, we collected additional data from a university canteen crowded during lunch time. Even in this crowded indoor environment, our proposed method has better real-time processing performance compared with other methods. 相似文献

Layout has a significant role on the efficiency of manufacturing systems, but it has not received attention of researchers in comparison to cell formation in cellular manufacturing systems. In this paper, a mathematical model for facility layout in a cellular manufacturing system is proposed that minimizes both inter-cell and intra-cell material handling costs. A variant of simulated annealing algorithm is developed to solve the model. The developed algorithm produces solutions with better quality and less computation time in comparison with the benchmarked algorithm. With the ever-increasing demand for wireless real-time services and continuing emergence of new multimedia applications especially for mobile users, it is necessary for the network to support various levels of quality of service (QoS) while maximizing the utilization of scarce and expensive wireless channel resources. Considering this fact, a new TDMA/FDD MAC protocol integrating a novel QoS management algorithm and multi-beam Directional Antennas (DAs) to efficiently exploit wireless resources has been developed and presented in this paper. It supports all ATM CBR, VBR, ABR and UBR service classes by adopting a well-managed dynamic guarantee-based QoS scheduling algorithm. The work mainly aims at increasing the wireless system throughput as well as improving the call-blocking ratios and end-to-end delays for real-time applications. This seamless communication enables both handling real-time multimedia traffics in a fair manner and granting call requests on the basis of the connection types. The system has been developed, modeled and simulated using OPNET Modeler. The simulation results show that the QoS-aware TDMA/FDD MAC with multi-beam DAs has substantially increased the system throughput and that the call-blocking ratio has been reduced from 86% to 18%, when the proposed MAC with 8-Beam antennas is employed instead of the regular MAC. 相似文献

This paper investigates a synchronization approach to trajectory tracking of networked robotic systems while maintaining time-varying formations. The objective is to control networked robots to track a desired trajectory while synchronizing their behaviors. Combining trajectory tracking and synchronization algorithms, the developed approach uses a cross-coupling technical to create interconnections for mutual synchronization of robots. The main objective of distributed approach is to generate an emerging behavior using only local information interactions. First, a distributed scheme is developed to achieve the networked robots synchronization on undirected graph. Then, the leaderless synchronized tracking problem in the case when only position measurements are available, will be presented. For both cases: In the presence of the velocity feedback or in its absence, the controller, designed by incorporating the cross-coupling technical into a sliding mode control architecture, successfully guarantees asymptotic convergence to zero of both position tracking and synchronization errors simultaneously. The Lyapunov-based approach has been used to establish the multi-robot systems asymptotic stability. A real-time software simulator is developed to visualize the synchronized behaviors. Based on LabVIEW integrated development environment (IDE), a developed human-machine-interface (HMI) allows its user to control, in real time, the networked robots. Liquid-liquid equilibrium (LLE) data for the ternary system water-ethanol-dimethyl succinate have been determined experimentally at temperatures ranging from 298.15 to 318.15 K at 5 K intervals. Complete phase diagrams were obtained by determining solubility and the tie-line data. Tie-line compositions were correlated by Othmer-Tobias method. The universal quasichemical functional group activity coefficient (UNIFAC) and modifiedUNIFAC methods were used to predict the phase equilibrium in the system using the interaction parameters determined from experimental data between groups CH3, CH2, OH, CH3COO and H20. It is found that UNIFAC and modified UNIFAC group interaction parameters used for LLE could not provide a good prediction. Produced water, which is co-produced during oil and gas manufacturing, represents one of the largest sources of oily wastewaters. Therefore, treatment of this produced water may improve the economic viability and lead to a new source of water for beneficial use. In this study a submerged hollow fiber membrane bioreactor (MBR) has been studied experimentally for the treatment of brackish oil and natural gas field produced water. This type of wastewater is also characterized with relatively moderate to high amount of salt, oil and total petroleum hydrocarbons (TPH). However, the bacteria which are growing in conventional activated sludge and MBR cannot survive at these strict conditions, therefore acclimation of the bacteria is of vital importance. The performance of the biological system, membrane permeability, the rate and extent of TPH biodegradability have been investigated under different sludge age and F/M ratios. The results obtained by gas chromatography analyses showed that the MBR system could be very effective in the removal of TPH from produced water and a significant improvement in the effluent quality was achieved. 相似文献
